This applies mainly to evergreens. No pruning is required apart from
light shaping and the removal of dead or diseased wood, also of wood
damaged by frost. This can be done as soon as it is noticed. Shaping
is best done in the late spring, or in August, but no later otherwise
the young growth will not ripen before winter.
